Men's Basketball
FLCC is a Division III non scholarship school that competes in the Mid
State Athletic Conference. In addition they travel across the state
playing a competitive non conference schedule. The Lakers play in a
spacious modern facility that is generally regarded as the most
attractive in the conference.
About the Coach
Richard Jones has guided the Lakers to seven consecutive post season playoff bids since taking over the program in 2002. His 2006 team won FLCC's first ever men's basketball regional championship. Coach Jones was named the New York State Junior College Coach-Of-The-Year in 2006. He previously spent 17 years coaching at four different high schools in New York and North Carolina.
Jones’ teams have won numerous championships and six of his players have gone on to play at the Division I level.
