FLCC Lacrosse Players Earn Athletic Scholarships
Nick Boylan '08 & Mike Eagan '09 have accepted partial athletic scholarships to continue playing collegiate lacrosse and earn their bachelors degree.
Nick Boylan, midfielder (Canandaigua Academy '05) is the all-time leading scorer in FLCC Lacrosse history. Nick amassed 101 goals and 48 assists. Nick was a 2-time team MVP, as well as 2-time Second Team all NJCAA Region III. Nick was also First Team Mid-State conference in 2007 & 2008. Nick was also voted team captain in 2008 by his teammates. Nick will continue his career at Belmont Abbey College, a Division II institution in Belmont, North Carolina.
Mike Eagan, attackman (West Irondequoit '07) has accepted a partial athletic scholarship to Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, North Carolina. Mike was an Honorable Mention All-Region III selection in 2009 for the Lakers as well as a first team all Mid-State conference selection. Mike finished his career with 30 goals and 45 assists. He currently ranks 8th All-Time on the FLCC Points List. Mike had 25 goals and 39 assists in the 2009 season. He was also a team captain in 2009. In 2009 Mike finished 5th in the nation in assists.
FLCC defenseman Jeff Conover (Hailey, Idaho) has accepted a partial scholarship to NCAA Division II Limestone College in Gafney, South Carolina. Jeff was an NJCAA Men's Lacrosse Player of the week during the 2009 season. He was also named to the Honorable Mention NJCAA Region III Team, as well as the Honorable Mention Mid State Athletic Conference Team. Jeff joins Mike Eagan and Nick Boylan as the first FLCC lacrosse players to receive NCAA scholarships for their work in the classroom and on the field.

AJ Groot (Canandaigua) had 2 goals for the Lakers. Phil Schmid (Spencerport) added a goal and Jeff Fichtner (Gates-Chili) added an assist. Mike Palvino (Spencerport) had 15 saves in goal.
FLCC plays next tomorrow 3/1 against #1 ranked Nassau County Community College at Mitchell Field in Uniondale,NY. The game is slated for a 1pm faceoff.

Nick Boylan FLCC midfielder NJCAA player of the week
Finger Lakes Community College sophomore midfielder Nick Boylan has been chosen National Player of the Week. Nick is a graduate of Canandaigua Academy. Nick totaled 17 points over the last week, including a 6 goal and 4 assist effort against Tompkins Cortland Community College last saturday afternoon. Nick was a second team all region III selection last year as well as an Academic All American. This is his second National player of the week award as he was awarded last season as well. Nick is currently second in the nation in scoring with 34 goals and 19 assists.
