Team gets new head coach for 2010 season

Steve Speno a native of Waterloo, NY will take over as head coach for the Lakers. Coach Speno has coached organized softball since 1986.  From developing a youth program for St. Mary’s School in 1989 to an assistant at Waterloo High School, he has coached players that have won seven Section V Class B titles in 15 years.  Speno has coached ASA softball teams for the past 9 years that played at the State and National Level mostly recently with the Conklin Raiders - Gold from Binghamton, NY.  He also runs the local ASA summer program.

In 2009 Coach Speno was an assistant coach at FLCC responsible for pitching and hitting development.  Speno has also coordinated a youth basketball league in the Finger Lakes since 1995 along with running the Waterloo travel basketball program.  Speno received his bachelor's degree in finance the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1976.  He has three daughters, Alyssa, Jennifer and Nicole, all of whom played college softball.  “I look forward to the challenge of Junior College softball and the development of both the softball program and student athletes at FLCC.”

Athlete Physicals

Incoming athletes need to have a physical in order to participate in fall ball. It can be mailed to the address on the online physical form.
